Beschreibung

The reference 5970 was the last Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph to use a Lemania-based movement before being replaced in 2011 by the in-house CH 29-535 PS caliber in the ref. 5270.

Despite its cult status, the ref. 5970 had the shortest production run of any Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph, with production lasting from 2004 to 2011. Various case metal and dial combinations were available throughout its run. In 2007, Patek introduced the platinum-cased, black-dialed 5970P. The 5971P followed, featuring the same platinum case and black dial but adding 36 baguette-cut diamonds totaling approximately 4.37 carats to the bezel, along with diamonds on the dial, to serve as the watch’s hour markers, and set onto the pin buckle.

The 5970P is considered one of the rarest 5970 variants, with an estimated 300-500 pieces produced. The even rarer 5971P, believed to have had only around 100 pieces made, was eventually succeeded by the 5271P.
