DESCRIPTION
Made between the late 1970s and the 1980s in very small numbers, the so called “Stella” dials are today much sought after by connoisseurs. The lacquer colours for the dials were mixed by hand and then applied layer after layer until a deep rich gloss coating had built up.
This example features a beautiful first series “Pie-pan” dial in “Oxblood” colour and is in great condition (unpolished).
The watch comes with its original certificate confirming the sale of the watch in London 1973, the original box and a Rolex note book bound in leather.
